Ken & Dave | Urban Denver Wedding

When we first met with Ken and Dave they had a clear vision of the era they wanted to channel for their wedding day. We highlighted the best of 1950's mid-mid style for their wedding reception at Michael Warren Contempory Gallery in the heart of the Santa Fe Arts district. We love the clean color palette and straight lines that were so prominent in this era. The highlight of the decor was a beautiful custom made bar paired with gorgeous gold bar stools. A stunning lounge anchored by a luscious blue velvet couch allowed guest to mingle in style. We also gave a nod to the era through the delicious food including deviled eggs, chicken and biscuits and shrimp shooters!

Megan & Bryan | Boulder Wedding

Megan and Bryan met while attend the University of Colorado, so it was only natural for them to get married back in Boulder. Rembrandt Yard was the perfect light-filled location for these two to say their vows. Megan's mom spent months creating 1000 paper cranes as a symbol of lucky, commitment and fertility, which served as a stunning backdrop for both the ceremony and reception.Their bright color palette was such a breath of fresh air for our fall season. CU's campus was scattered in leaves and set the scene for the perfect first look photographs.

We are thrilled to see this wedding featured on Borrowed and Blue

4th of July Styled Shoot

We had so much fun putting together a sparkling 4th of July styled Shoot for Novelty Bride Magazine.   We wanted to represent the patriotic colors in a unique and glam way!

When we think of 4th of July we thinking of time with family, red, white and blue and of course fireworks. We don't often has the opportunity to plan a beach wedding in Colorado, The Lake House at Cherry Creek gave us the opportunity to do just that.

We fell in love with this amazing Hayley Paige gown from Anna Be and the rest of the details slide right into place. The Jewlery provided by Mark's Diamonds elevated the entire look. We used lots of texture, metallic and sparkle to create a romantic and cozy reception site.

We will let the amazing images  from Decorus Fine Art Photography speak for themselves!

4th of July Celebration

We Love any excuse to gather friends and family around and celebrate. There is something so awesome about centering that celebration around fireworks! Here are a few fun design and decor tips from a 4th of July rehearsal dinner we had the honor of planning.

1. Spend the day at the baseball field! What is more American then an old fashion baseball game, peanuts and a cold beer.

2. Make fun food labels  and decor out of iconic American items like a baseball.

3. Don't forget something fun for the kids to do during the game. We loved putting together this fun bag with coloring books and stickers.

4. Don't forget a warm blanket to share once fireworks start.

Putting the Art in Party!

When I set out to plan my daughters birthday, I knew I wanted something that would be fun for all of the kids with a fun fun design details. I asked Emma what she would want and she quickly said an “art party”! I set off to create a beautiful and fun joint birthday party for my two girls

Being an event planner for a living allows me to create beautiful events for other people, but this was the first time I could be my own client!  I knew I wanted something fun and interactive for the kids. I came up with the idea to cut and paint old refrigerator boxes into life size easels for the kids. The creation station featured paint pens, markers, artists wipes,(wet wipes) and bubbles. I put all natural food coloring in bubbles and when the kids blew the bubbles onto the canvas they popped and created art. Each child had a canvas with their name on it and had a blast creating their own masterpiece. To create a dramatic backdrop (and protect our fence!) I ordered plastic tablecloths that I hung so they appeared to be pouring out of paint cans, I designed the stickers for the paint cans to match the balloons, streamers, and tablecloths.

After creating masterpieces of their own the kids found their cookie placecards and went to work decorating their own cupcakes. One long table featured brightly colored flowers, aprons and cupcakes for each kiddo. I made the easels that held the cookies out of colored popsicle sticks.

Cake is probably my favorite part of any celebration and I have definitely passed that love on to my girls. Emma’s cake was a painting of curious George, which happens to be her favorite book, accompanied by a paint can made of cake and her sisters 1 year smash cake was a painters palate. Yes the yellow Curious George “picture”, paint can an palette are all 100% cake!!

The moment Emma walked into the backyard and started pointing out every little detail, I knew this would be a party both of us would never forget.  We are FOREVER grateful to our dear friends Rachael and Gina for helping us bring our vision to life!

Woodland Baby Shower

When soon-to-be mama Yvette, contacted us and said she wanted an intimate baby shower with killer details and amazing food, we knew we would enjoy working with her. We created an elegant woodland baby shower for baby Olivia with the highlight of the décor being an amazing reclaimed dresser framed by an aspen arch dripping with beautiful blooms.  Yvette is a self proclaimed foodie and  we thought this was a great opportunity to use food as a key component to the design. We hung tasty treats in glass boxes, stacked donuts and had the cutest bottles of baby tobacco sauce you have ever seen.  Romantic calligraphy food signs sat atop moss holders and flowers will artfully frozen into the ice cubes that chilled the pink bubbly.

We brought an emerald green couch to anchor the seating area that also featured a hand made 8ft tall backdrop/photobooth with large hand made paper flowers and flower crowns for all of the guests.

Guests were treated to a thoughtful gift bag put together by Yvette with lots of love. The bags included a wonderful shawl, s’mores kit, paper flower featuring their name and chocolate bar with Olivia’s name printed on it! One of my favorite details is a letter that the future mom and dad wrote to Olivia.

We truly believe that love is in the details and this baby shower is chalk full of LOVE!

We are honored to see this shower published on Home Confetti and CoutureColorado!

First Look Events and Moss Denver Launch Party

How do you make a splash in the Denver Events scene? Plan an event centered around a unique inspiration, add a splash of fire, a hint of mystery, and pack the room with amazing professionals. That is just what we did for the launch of First Look Events  and Moss Denver!

When we first set out to plan a styled shoot we knew that we wanted to use an unexpected inspiration for our designs. We settled on a common thread of Emotion to create one-of-a-kind vignettes to inspire the wedding and events industry.  Our vignettes explore the idea that human emotions can inspire event design in a fresh way.

Taking the experience beyond the eyes alone…

Thank you to Stelly Weddings for this amazing video

You only have the opportunity to make a first impression once and that is just what we did when we partnered with Design Works to create this stunning backdrop.

Prediction: Bold floral patterns will be a huge trend in weddings this year.

JOY

Joy is the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying. Joy speaks of experiencing something that pleases the eye, warms your heart or soothes the soul.

We used mineral formations, clear acrylic, muted gold luster, mixed metals, unique geode specimens and polished marble to bring Joy to Life.

Prediction: Geodes are going to rock this season! The cake for this vignette created by, the incredibly talented Intricate Icings, went viral within 24 hours of this piece of art hitting the internet.
